🚚 FBA (fulfilled by Amazon)
Updated over 3 months ago

Goods are shipped to Amazon warehouses and then from their warehouses to the customer.

This service allows you to use Amazon's warehouses. Amazon handles all storage, shipping, and customer support for you.

Of course, this service comes with a fee. The cost depends on the physical parameters of the product (quantity, size, weight) and the length of time the goods are stored in the warehouses. In return, Amazon offers you advantages—according to statistics, sellers using FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) see a 20% increase in sales.

Shipping goods to FBA can be quite complicated the first time and requires strict adherence to Amazon's guidelines (such as precise labeling of the shipment or delivery of goods). Not every carrier is accepted by Amazon.

⚠️ To use this service, you must be a registered VAT payer in all the countries where you want to store goods. If you do not sell the goods within 6 months, you will be charged a long-term storage fee. This fee can be considered a penalty for not selling your goods quickly enough. After another 6 months, this fee increases. Therefore, choose your product assortment and the quantity shipped carefully.

✅ We can advise you on the best places to register for VAT abroad. We will create the shipment to FBA, including the labels needed for correctly sending goods to Amazon. We regularly monitor the delivery, track stock levels, and notify you if goods in the warehouses are running low.

1) Shipping Goods to FBA

If you decide to use the FBA option, Amazon requires the following information when setting it up:

  • Dimensions and weight of individual product packages

  • Dimensions and weight of large boxes in which the goods will be shipped

By providing these details during registration, Amazon can allocate the appropriate warehouse space and prepare the necessary equipment for handling heavy shipments.

2) Transportation

a) In Boxes

b) On Pallets

  • Ensure that your carrier can deliver the shipment to Amazon and arrange a delivery date.

⚠️ If goods are shipped on pallets, the carrier must always schedule a delivery appointment in advance (without this, Amazon will not accept the pallet). This is always handled by the carrier; we only generate the address and labels for shipment!

How to Send a Pallet?

Recommended carriers: DHL, DACHSER, JAPO Transport

Sometimes, even for non-hazardous products (e.g., clothing or plastic containers), Amazon requires an SDS (Safety Data Sheet). This document certifies that the product is not hazardous or flammable. It also includes information on proper storage and handling of the goods, as well as their composition. The manufacturer provides this document.

3) How to Properly Set Up Shipping on Amazon

There are different types of shipping:

  • Domestic shipping (within the same country)

  • International shipping (outside the country)

5) How to Label Products

Products that do not meet the criteria for stickerless inventory must be labeled with FBA labels to be accepted at Amazon's fulfillment centers.

By selecting the "Label Required" filter on the "Label Products" page, you can view products in your shipping plan that require labels.

For products that require labels, you must place a label on each unit of the product, and the label must cover all existing barcodes. However, it should not cover any information relevant to food information regulations (1169/2011).

This includes the following information:

  • Legal (descriptive) name

  • List of ingredients

  • QUID (Quantitative Ingredient Declaration)

  • Net quantity

  • Best before date or use-by date

  • Storage conditions

  • Name and address of the EU business

  • Country of origin

  • Instructions for use

  • Alcohol content (if >1.2%)

  • Nutritional information

  • Allergens (Article 21)

6) Pallet Size Requirements

⚠️ All shipments that are not small parcels must be palletized. Pallets of other dimensions may be rejected. Pallet exchange is not available. Pallets delivered internationally must be heat-treated according to ISPM-15 standards. Broken or damaged pallets are unacceptable and may be rejected at the merchant's expense.

Amazon's fulfillment centers currently cannot accept deliveries in ocean containers. Additionally, floor-loaded shipments require exceptional pre-authorization, for which the Amazon business team will contact you directly for approval and scheduling.

  • For delivering inventory to EU countries, use Euro/CHEP pallets measuring 800x1200 mm.

  • For delivering inventory to the UK, only wooden GMA class B or higher pallets, measuring 1000x1200 mm with four-way entry, or 1000x1200 mm CHEP pallets are accepted.

  • Shipments in ocean containers and unauthorized floor-loaded shipments may be refused at the dock, returned to you at your expense, or subject to appropriate fees for non-compliance.

7) What Are the Warehouse Addresses?

Amazon generates the current address when creating the shipping plan. There are many warehouses, and they change depending on the specific situation.

8) How Long Does Delivery Take?

It all depends on the warehouse's capacity. Packages are delivered to Amazon in approximately 4 days, while pallets take around 7 days. Stocking the inventory after delivery can take from 4 to 21 days.

9) What Happens When a Product Is Returned?

12) What Cannot Be Sent to FBA

It is crucial to be aware of items that CANNOT be sent to FBA (we sent goods worth 10,000 EUR, and Amazon destroyed them).
