Reporting for Amazon

Transactional Report

💡 The transactional report is generated from Amazon. It provides a summary of all your orders made within a given month, broken down by the country of sale. The data source for this report is Amazon’s Payments Report.

📌 The report records orders based on their shipment date. For example, it may include orders received on March 31st but shipped in the following month on April 1st.

⏰ Reports are generated regularly between the 20th and 28th of the following month (for the previous month) and are stored in a shared folder.

What is the purpose of the report?

The report is primarily intended for accountants to calculate the costs of goods sold and to provide better insight into the breakdown of orders into individual items (revenue, shipping costs, commissions, promotions, etc.).

Source Sheets (e.g., DE-source) then serve as a tool for accountants to gain a better overview of the breakdown of orders into individual items (revenue, commissions, shipping costs, etc.).

Values in column G are presented in the local currency of the respective country.

How to Generate the Report?

Steps to Generate the Report 👇

1. To log in to your Amazon account, select the “Payments” tab.

2. Click on the “All Statements” window and download all reports that include data from the specific month. Typically, the data is divided into 3-4 exports.

Example: For the April 2023 report → download all reports that contain data from April 1st to April 30th, 2023 (see the video tutorial above).

3. To download the report, click on the “Download” button. Open the downloaded file, copy the data, and upload it to the source sheets.

4. Repeat this process for all marketplaces.

To ensure the data is calculated correctly in the initial sheets (UK, DE, IT, etc.), use the FIND/REPLACE function in the source sheets to remove periods and commas—so that all data is in the correct format (e.g., 1.56 or 2005.67). Otherwise, the formulas will not work!

5. Each month, check the exchange rates for the UK, SEK, PL, and others.
