Who is eligible

There are two types of sellers who are eligible to apply for brand registration with Amazon:

  • Brand owners and/or manufacturers

  • Resellers, distributors, or individuals who provide written authorization from the brand owner or manufacturer, confirming they are authorized to sell the products listed on Amazon.

Yes, resellers go through a very strict approval process, and not everyone successfully registers a brand. The reason for this is, again, brand protection.


Required documents

For a brand owner and/or manufacturer to become part of the Amazon Brand Registry program, they must first have the following documents:

  • Photos of the product packaging with the brand clearly visible

  • Photos of the product with the brand clearly visible

  • Photo of the registered brand logo

  • Link to a functional website where the products and registered brand can be seen

  • A registered email address that uses the brand name for the @ (example - yourname@yourbrand.cz)

  • Proof of brand registration within the EU (a brand registered in the Czech Republic will not be accepted).

What type of trademark is needed?

For the USA, a valid trademark in the USA is required, while within Europe, an EU trademark is needed.

What information will Amazon specifically require?

If you’ve ever set up a PayPal account, you’re familiar with this — due to anti-money laundering laws, Amazon must request specific identification of the ultimate recipient of the funds. Therefore, they will want a scan of your ID, company bylaws, and sometimes even a utility bill from the shareholder's home address (with at least 20% ownership).

Is it necessary to obtain Brand Registry for each of the 5 marketplaces in the EU?

No, you only need to obtain Brand Registry once, and it automatically applies to all 5 marketplaces within the EU. However, the process is separate for the USA.
