⛔ Prohibited and Permitted Products

💬 Amazon does not allow all products to be listed in its catalog. There are two cases.

1. Prohibited Products

Certain types of products are completely restricted from being sold on Amazon.

⛔ A list of prohibited products for Amazon in Germany can be found here.

Amazon will not allow these products to be listed or, if matched, they will be removed. Having many prohibited products on your account may result in sales suspension!

2. Products Requiring Approval

Some products can only be listed on Amazon after obtaining approval for the specific category.

✅ An overview of categories requiring approval on Amazon in Germany can be found here.

For the Health and Beauty category on Amazon, the following requirements generally apply:

  • Local Labeling: Products must have local labels. If using stickers, they should be applied neatly. Amazon may reject products if the label is crooked or shows descriptions in another language.

  • Product Photos: Clear images of the product, even from a warehouse or in hand, are required.

  • EU Sales Permission: A free sale certificate is necessary.

Additionally, Amazon may require:

  • Laboratory Test Documentation: From a specific recommended lab.

  • Registered Ingredients: Ingredients must be registered locally, such as with BWL in Germany.
