🔎 Editing products using CSV
Updated over a week ago

If you are not using Shoptet and do not have an XML feed available, products can be uploaded as a one-time process using a CSV file.

ℹ️ You need to provide the following information into EXPANDO APP:

  • SKU (your product identifier)

  • Product name

  • EAN code (if you don't have one, contact us at help@expan.do)

  • Price excluding VAT (if not provided directly in the feed, it can be adjusted using a CSV file)

  • Stock availability (a real number is required, "in stock" alone is not sufficient)

Bulk editing using a CSV file

Preparing the file in Excel:

  1. Simply create an Excel table or Google Sheet.

  2. In the table, create columns for the required parameters: SKU, Product Name, EAN Code, Stock Availability, and Price, and fill in the corresponding values for each product. Each product will occupy one row in the table.

  3. The text must be saved through "Format" as "Plain Text."

  4. Download the file in CSV format.

⚠️ If you are using Excel, make sure to use UTF-8 encoding.

Importing the file into EXPANDO APP - during onboarding

After registering in EXPANDO APP, you have three options for importing products. If you are not using Shoptet and do not have an XML feed, you can import products using a CSV file at this step. Below is the procedure.

  1. Select the option "Import data from .CSV file."

  2. Upload the CSV file containing the required parameters and click "Continue."

  3. In the second step, review the file preview, adjust the column separator if necessary, and proceed to mapping.

  4. Map the CSV table so that EXPANDO APP knows which element in the table should be assigned to which parameter. You can also "Add another parameter," for example, if you have prices in different currencies for different Amazon countries in your table.

  5. Save and proceed to connect the marketplace.

Import the file into EXPANDO APP

Click on the "Products" section:

  1. Click on "Bulk Edit (CSV)."

  2. Drag and drop or upload the prepared file.

  3. Once the file is uploaded, select "Import new products."

  4. Map the individual columns such as SKU, Price, Stock, EAN, etc., so that EXPANDO APP recognizes which column contains the respective value.

  5. Confirm. EXPANDO APP will notify you how many products were successfully uploaded according to the CSV file.
